Please note that wood products may vary in stave counts due to differing lumber thicknesses and product widths.
Dimensions:
– Depth: The distance between the front and back of the tread.
– Width: The span between the left and right sides, excluding the returned edging material (1 ¼” per side with edging). For instance, a tread with a Double Return will be 2 ½” wider overall than indicated in the “width” column.
– Thickness: Defaults to a 1” standard on Wood Treads, with the option to select thicker or thinner treads using the Custom Stair Tread Designer above.
– Returns: Mitered nosing providing a polished finish and concealing end grains. Available in Left, Right, and Double configurations. Note: Double Return treads require a “throat cut” measurement.
Our Custom Stair Tread Designer is designed to estimate costs for personalized orders. Timberlake Building Supplies reserves the right to confirm orders and finalize prices for any custom items ordered through this tool.
Clear Finish & Stain Information:
Choose from our selection of premium stain and finish options tailored to your product’s use. For Wood Stair Treads, both clear finishes and stains are available. Opt for a clear finish to highlight the wood’s natural beauty, or select from our custom-mixed stains for richer tones.
All tread materials and products intended for underfoot use are treated with Conversion Varnish—a resilient finish standard in the hardwood flooring industry. Applied evenly by our expert team using a spray applicator, this specialty varnish provides comprehensive protection against wear and tear, ensuring your treads stand the test of time.
